Tunisia sits outside every European roaming deal, so a week in Djerba or Hammamet can end with a big phone bill. A travel eSIM installed at home connects when you land, whether you're there for the beach or for a summer with family.

Which network does it use?

Our Tunisia plan runs on Ooredoo, one of the country's three networks, on 4G. Coverage is good in Tunis, Sousse, Monastir, Hammamet, Djerba and along the coast. In the south and the Sahara, around Tozeur and Douz, signal gets thinner on every network.

How much data do you need?

Tips for Tunisia

Hotel Wi-Fi slows down at night. All-inclusive resorts often have busy, slow Wi-Fi in the evening. With your own data, you can video call home from the room.

Desert trips. A trip to the Sahara or Star Wars film sites goes out of range for hours. Download offline maps and let family know before you leave.

Visiting family. At a family house without Wi-Fi, one phone can share its data with the others. Hotspot is allowed on every plan, with no daily cap.

Travelling on to Morocco? Our Morocco guide covers that country's networks and plans. Regional plans also cover Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Turkey and the Gulf with one eSIM.

Is your phone ready?

You need a phone that supports eSIM and isn't locked to your carrier. Here's how to check in two minutes.

How to set it up

  1. Buy the plan on our website or in the Blue eSIM app.
  2. Install it at home, on Wi-Fi. On recent iPhones the app installs it with one tap; on any phone you can scan the QR code.
  3. When you land, choose the eSIM for mobile data and switch on data roaming for it. Turn data roaming off on your home SIM.
  4. If you run low, top up the same eSIM in the app.

What you get with Blue eSIM

  • Ooredoo, a major Tunisian network, named before you buy
  • Hotspot on every plan, with no daily cap
  • A plan that starts when you land, not when you install it
  • Top-ups on the same eSIM
  • Plans changed? Cancel any eSIM you haven't installed, for full credit, up to 5 months after buying
  • An app and support in eight languages, including Albanian, Macedonian and Turkish
